If the garbage bin next to your house has not been cleaned or this month’s electricity bill is inflated or the Delhi Jal Board has failed to plug the leakage in your colony and the authorities are not addressing the problem, you can complain to the chief minister directly.
With assembly elections just a few months away, the Delhi government has decided to take one more step to reach closer to the electorate and address its grievances. The Delhi government is going to revive its public grievance redressal system - Aap ki Sunwai. You will now be able to register your complaint either online or through a dedicated helpline system and the complaint would be redressed in a time-bound manner.
Though the government had earlier launched ‘Aap Ki Sunwai’ a few years ago, it was later discontinued due to “technical reasons”. Senior Delhi Government officials said the new and advanced system is ready and would be launched soon. While you will be able to register the complaint through a new four digit number ‘1031, you will also be able to log in to the website to register your complaint. Officials said they are still working on the portal address to ensure it is easy to remember and key in.
Officials said the National Informatics Centre has been hired to handle the system. The NIC, in turn, has outsourced it to a private company, which has set up a five seat call centre.
“The complaint will have to be attended to in a time bound manner and the status will have to be updated,” a Delhi government officer said.
