Not given promotion for the past several years, over 150 employees posted in the Directorate General of Income Tax (Investigation), New Delhi, have decided to move Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) again.

The employees claimed that despite the department's assurances, they have neither been granted promotions, nor have they been merged with another cadre that would bring them on a  par with other department employees.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes had also issued a letter in 2010 stating that the DGIT (Investigation), New Delhi cadre will be merged with that of the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, New Delhi but no action has been taken so far.
