Ramjas Foundation held its Ramjas Inter School Debates in English and Hindi, which is an annual feature.
The preliminary rounds were held earlier at Ramjas School, Pusa Road in which ten teams each were selected for the finals.
The topics for the debates at the finals were ‘India is a billion strong’ in English and in Hindi ‘Kalyug Ki Yehi Riti Hai Bhai, Sab Kuch Kaho Karo Kachu Nahi’.
Salman Khurshid, Cabinet Minister of the Ministry of Water resources and Ministry of Minority Affairs graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the English debate while Laxmi Shankar Bajapai, Director, Aakash Vani was the Chief Guest at the debate in Hindi.
The running trophy in English as well in Hindi was bagged by Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura.
The Miss universe 2010, Ximena Navarrete visited Convent of Jesus and Mary, Bangla Sahib Marg as a part of the ‘Celebrate the Girl Child’–campaign.
The event began with a floral welcome, the lighting of the lamp and a song by the school choir, followed by a dance drama based on the Ramayana.
International fashion designer, Sanjana Jon accompanied her. Both distributed mosquito nets to under privileged children.
The event coincided with the Founder’s Day celebrations.
Those present on the occasion included Principal, Sister Janet, General Secretary of Parent Teacher Association, Anita Kaul, Joint Secretary of PTA, Malika Kumar and other staff members.
Teacher Jaishree Guha conducted the proceedings.
Manava Bharati India International School, Panchsheel Park celebrated ‘Vasant Utsav’.
The guest of honour on the occasion was Dr. Bharatinder Singh, an internationally acclaimed personality in the field of sports, fitness and medicine.
The event included various song and dance performances. Students also showcased Aerobics in a dance form.
This was followed by a Karate demonstration and presentation of Yoga power.
Principal, Bharati Pandey in her address to the students emphasised the need of physical training together with intellectual development of students for a composite build up of man.
