Pakistan on Wednesday said it is  always willing to have Indian journalists based in the country, and are in the process of finalising the visa for two Indian journalists representing the Press Trust of India and The Hindu.

The spokesperson of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi said that there was no question of PTI correspondent Razaul Laskar  being asked to leave.

“We have nothing to do with him leaving the assignment and it is a decision of his organisation to find a replacement. He didn’t apply the mandatory two months in advance for the visa which ended on March 15,” said the spokesperson.

Media, the spokesperson said, can play an important role in bringing the two countries and peoples together.

And the new Pakistan government has already declared its intention to have good ties with India, he added.
