The police have arrested a man whom his 14-year-old daughter accused of rape in a city court. According to her statement before a city court, she was being gang-raped by three people, including her father, for the past three months in northwest Delhi’s Kanjhawala area.
The police said the man was arrested immediately after a city court’s order though his two accomplices are on the run.
“The incident came to light on Friday when the victim gave a statement before a court, which was looking into a case of domestic violence her mother had filed against her father,” said a police officer.
In her statement, the 14-year-old told the court that the men raped her frequently in her house and that whenever she would object, the three would threaten her of dire consequences.
The court instructed the police to register a case of gang rape and to arrest her father and his two associates on her complaint.
“The victim was sent to a nearby hospital for medical examination which confirmed rape and a case was registered against her father and his two friends at the Kanjhawala police station,” the officer said.
Police further said that the victim’s mother separated from her husband almost four months ago after lodging a complaint of domestic violence.
“The identity of the victim’s father cannot be revealed as per provisions of the law. Several teams have been sent to trace and nab his associates,” the officer added.
