In a bid to minimise road accidents during the foggy season, a specially designed multi-facility emergency vehicle was inaugurated on Monday.
The unique traffic emergency response vehicle, equipped with facilities like oxygen cylinders and electronic woodcutters, is expected to minimise mishaps on NH-2, where accident cases rise during the foggy season.
This is probably the first multi-facility vehicle in Delhi/NCR and entire Haryana to be introduced to tackle emergency situations during accidents on Mathura Road.
Faridabad commissioner of police PK Agarwal flagged-off this emergency response vehicle at a small ceremony here.
“Whenever accidents take place on highways, the traffic police face a number of hurdles in dealing with the emergency situation besides taking care of the victims and quick regulation of traffic,” joint commissioner of police Anil Kumar Rao said. The vehicle is equipped with wireless sets, stretchers, big emergency lights, refrigerators (to store medicines), public address system, fire-fighting system, oxygen cylinders, woodcutters (to cut tree branches during emergencies), inverters besides a team of policemen and pharmacists.
The vehicle will be stationed at NH-2 round-the- clock. The contact numbers (9999150000 and 7838783783) displayed on the vehicle have been released to print and electronic media for public information, he said.
