Mumbai next stop after DU

The primary choice for a large number of students from around the city is Delhi University. But a sizeable number is also looking at options outside Delhi. Colleges in Mumbai, of late, have become very popular with students from all over the country. However, students who have not given their class 12 exams from the Maharashtra state board, getting a certificate of eligibility from the Mumbai University registrar is mandatory for applying to colleges.

Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics
It offers bachelors courses in Commerce with specialisations in accounts and finance, financial markets and BSc in IT. Admissions are done on the basis of merit list. Forms are also available on the college website,

St Xavier’s College, Mumbai
It is well known for its Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM) and Bachelor of Management Studies. It also offers BSc IT and other BA courses. Except BMS and BMM where admission will be through entrance exam and interview, a student is admitted on the basis of the marks in class XII and an interview.  
Important dates: Admission to the BMS and BMM courses has begun and the deadline for application submission is June 1. Admission to the BA, BSc and BSc IT courses will begin in the last week of May. Forms also available on college’s website

Jai Hind College
The college has recently introduced various courses such as the Bachelor of Commerce-Accounting and Finance (BAF), Bachelor of Banking and Insurance and Bachelor of Commerce-Financial Markets. The college also offers popular courses in Mass Media and other BA and BSc programmes. Admission are conducted on the basis of class XII marks.
