Human resources development minister Pallam Raju on Sunday denied the reports that the union government was planning to stop the production of Akash tablets.

Talking to newsmen in Kozhikode, he said Akash was one of the prestigious projects of the UPA government and his ministry would do everything to enhance its production.

However, he said there were serious snags in the production and distribution of the tablets, touted to be the world's cheapest tablet.
