A 21-year-old US-based NRI died due to a severe head wound shortly after attending a party at a posh south Delhi apartment complex in Kalkaji.

Anmol Sarna was spotted bleeding profusely and screaming for help by a passerby around 12.30pm on Friday. He was taken to AIIMS where he succumbed to his injuries around 2.30am.

Police said Sarna had arrived at his friend’s residence in Kalkaji’s Southpark apartments with four of his friends just half-an-hour before he was found severely injured.

During the party they had allegedly taken LSD, other drugs and sniffed eraser fluid.

“We are examining the case from all perspectives, including drug abuse and unnatural sex,” said a senior police officer.

The victim’s father, Anil Sarna, claimed the friends had a hand in his death. “They have killed my son. I don’t know what the fight was about but he was brutally assaulted by his friends.”

Doctors at AIIMS said Sarna’s injury may have been inflicted with a beer bottle or an iron rod. He died due to heavy blood loss.

Sarna had recently graduated from high school in New York and was visiting his extended family in Greater Kailash.

Sarna was scheduled to  fly to London on Saturday to start a course in hotel management.
