Pakistan Rangers postpone meeting with BSF to Feb 20

A flag meeting between commanders of the BSF and Pakistan Rangers has been postponed from January 16 to February 20 due to administrative reasons. Pak Rangers sent a message in this regard on January 4.

BSF sources said it was a routine border meeting between the field commanders of the force and Rangers was scheduled for January 16 on the Pakistani side at Munnabao border.

"This was postponed till February 20 this year by Pakistan Rangers. The Rangers said they can't hold the meeting in January due to administrative reasons. The decision was conveyed to us on January 4," said a BSF official here.

The news comes in the wake of January 8 firings by Pakistani troops that killed two Indian soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC).There is high alert on Indo-Pak border, especially in Jammu and Kashmir and Barmer-Jaisalmer in Rajasthan after the incident.

On Thursday, hundreds of youth gathered here in front of the collectorate in Barmer and demanded strong action against Pakistan. A group of young men burnt the Pakistani flag and also sent a memorandum to the President and PM of India to take strong action against Pakistan.
