Thousands were stuck as the metro services crippled on the Dwarka-Noida/Vaishali line on Tuesday noon. According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) a technical fault between Karol Bagh and RK Ashram metro station lead to delays.

The services were hit severely around 12:30 pm. Most of the passengers were heading to meet the family members on the occassion of Raksha Bandhan.

"For 10 minutes operations were shut completely on the Dwarka line. After that we started running the train in small section - between Karol Bagh to Dwarka-21 and Barakhamba to Noida/Vaishali. And trains started operating on single line from Karol Bagh to Barakhamba since 12:40 pm," a DMRC official said.
