Over the years, Hauz Khas Village has left many city hangouts behind when it comes to a place that Delhi’s youngsters swear by. With the National Green Tribunal ordering the eateries there to be shut, having stated that they cause environmental damage to the 14th century village, we asked the city’s foodies for their take on it. Read on.
I fail to understand how these restaurants would cause pollution. I would still go to HKV because it gives a different dimension to the city, as I can relate to the culture there
Henry MS Choudhury, 35
I will still go to HKV because that’s one place where we have so many eating options along with scenic beauty. I don’t know how these eateries are damaging the environment
Vedika Virmani, 24
I guess the concept of having all the restaurants at one place is a good thing. Rather than shutting them, make them eco-friendly by may be setting up a solar grid for power
Tarunpreet Singh Maini, 26
Just because it’s a popular haunt, we must not be party to polluters. If there is merit in the tribunal’s order, we must take charge and boycott HKV till the eateries there get their act right
Samarth Pathak, 25
I would not go to Hauz Khas Village till the time the case is resolved. And, when these eateries are shut, there is just no point going there.
