Hurley, 38, arrived late Monday and will stay for more than a month to play a lead part in the film directed by Britisher Duncan Roy, said Bogdan Moncea, a spokesman for Romanian Castel Films. Hurley will play an actress who is given the role of a 19th-century serial killer and begins taking on some
of the killer's characteristics in real life.
Most of the movie will be shot in the studios of Castel Films in the lakeside resort of Snagov, north of Bucharest. Filming began Monday. Several Romanian actors also have roles in the American-British-Romanian production.
Romania has become an attractive location for film productions due to low costs and unspoiled scenery. Actors like Andy Garcia, Nicole Kidman and Jude Law have starred in movies made in Romania in the past year.
