A sentry at an Indian Air Force station in Mumbai was arrested on Tuesday after he shot dead two colleagues and injured two others. The police were yet to ascertain the reason for the crime.
The Nirmal Nagar Police said the incident took place at the Air Force's signal unit located at Patel Nagar in Bandra East.
“Duty sentry RS Yadav fired seven rounds at his colleagues. Two resting guards were killed on the spot while two others were seriously injured and are currently receiving treatment,” a police official said.
The police said there were seven men on guard duty at the time of the incident and the other jawans snatched the accused's rifle after which he escaped.
The deceased were identified as Somdatta and HK Singh while the injured were identified as Bhimsingh and Thapa.and reform a cumbersome land acquisition process for industrial projects.
