The horror for minors in Haryana continued unabated with two drug addicts allegedly raping and killing a five-year-old girl in Sirsa on January 26 and a labourer absconded after raping a 15-year-old girl over the past year.
In the first case, the drug addicts identified as Pawan
and Vikas abducted the five-year-old from Dabwali town, raped and killed her with sharp-edged weapons before dumping her body at an obscure place.
The case was cracked by the police during a search for the girl after her parents reported she was missing. The police rounded up the alleged rapists as they were roaming around suspiciously and confessed to the crimes during interrogation.
In the second case, labourer Surinder Kumar, 22, was on the run after allegedly having raped the teenager for a year at Ram Nagaria village in Sirsa district. Investigation officer Subhash Chander said Kumar used to barge into the victim's house when she was alone and exploited her by threatening to kill her 12-year-old brother if she refused to have sex with him.
Finally, on Monday, the hapless girl could take it no more and broke down and narrated her agony to her mother, who went straight to the police.
