A former kabaddi player, he is a member of the All India Kisan Sabha and vice-president of the Punjab unit of Communist Party of IndiaMarxist (CPM). He says, “Our party has fought terrorism, and now our fight is against corruption, which is a bigger ‘terrorist’. In case no liquor or money is distributed in the polls, I would win.”
