The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) vice-president, Partap Singh Bajwa, has said the new organisational structure of the PPCC would be announced in the next few days.
Talking to mediapersons at Rupnagar on Saturday night, Bajwa said the Congress, Punjab affairs in-charge, Harish Chaudhary was busy in the Rajasthan assembly elections and as such the list of the new office-bearers could not be announced. Now, the elections in Rajasthan were over and the list would be announced in three-four days.
He said it would be his list of the office-bearers that would be cleared by the party high command.
Bajwa also claimed that the Congress would win all four seats in the Delhi assembly elections, where the Shiromani Akali Dal had fielded candidates.
In a reply to a question about former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh's remarks that Partap Singh Bajwa should take a stand on the issue of imposition of property tax in the state, the state Congress president said his stand was not different from Capt Amarinder Singh. The Congress would withdraw this tax after coming to power in the state in the next elections, Bajwa said.
"We have already started a movement against the property tax and have appealed to the people not to deposit the tax. The government is getting poor response from the people in this regard," Bajwa said.
He also lashed out at the Punjab government for wasting crores of rupees on hiring film actress Priyanka Chopra and singers for a performance during the inauguration of the Kabaddi World Cup at Bathinda.
