So the best team in the tournament finally played like the best team in the tournament. What is it with India and when they are pushed hard against the wall?
And specifically Virat Kohli, who seems to have made a habit of compiling some of his best innings when India is in a bit of a soup.
Indian cricket has been so fortunate over the years to have great batsmen in their teams from the time I remember.
Maybe it’s got a lot to do with the batting culture that we have in India where for example, if you have an open selection trial for kids under the age of 15, the longest queue would be of batsmen.
Coming back to Virat, he is clearly the chosen one in this next gen of Indian batsmen. He has all it takes to become the next great Indian batsman.
What I really find amazing is how the power centre of batting has shifted from Mumbai to Delhi. After Sehwag and Gambhir we now have Virat and Shikhar. What is even more amazing is the fact that these four Delhi batsmen are all big innings players.
