Two women were injured when mortar shells fired by Pakistan hit their home in Kanachak area on Thursday evening.
Pakistan started firing in Kanachak area on Thursday evening at about 6.30 pm which was retaliated by BSF. The firing continued for about 30 minutes.
"Pak rangers fired with small and automatic weapons resulting in exchange of gun fire. The firing is likely to intensify late night," said a BSF official.
Pakistan had on Wednesday night fired mortar shells and rockets hitting civilian areas along the international border in Jammu and Samba district forcing BSF troops to retaliate. The duration and ferocity of firing was quite less than the previous occurrences.
One of the shells hit residence of Mangal Singh in Nanga village in Ramgarh sector of Samba district while another hit the BSF outpost. There was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the process.
"Pakistan fired at Border out posts (BoPs) in Nikki Tawi areas and Ramgarh belts of Samba district since last night," BSF officials said on Thursday.
The firing stopped early Thursday morning.
Pakistan had on Tuesday fired at over 52 border outposts along international border (IB) in which one BSF head constable was killed and seven other security personnel were injured.
