Ban the bacne
If bacne, or acne on your back, is the reason you are afraid of rocking a strappy or backless choli, here is help at hand. Firstly, do away with tight fitting clothes and let your skin breathe. Also, over zealously scrubbing your back can irritate your skin and cause bacne. You can remove the spots and prevent bacne by applying a paste of 2 tbsp curd, cucumber juice, sea salt and few drops of olive oil. Rinse off after 15 minutes.
Do away the dryness
For centuries, fashionistas plagued with dryness have sworn by olive oil. Massage the oil on your damp body after taking a bath to lock in the moisture. You can also use olive oil as a makeup remover, if you do not want to irritate your skin with chemical concoctions. Hair tends to become dry and brittle during winters. Make them softer and shinier by mixing a yolk of an egg with 2 tbsp of olive oil and 5 drops of lemon juice. Hold this mask on your hair for about 15 minutes, then wash.
Tame the tone
Excessive exposure to sun and pollution can lead to uneven skin tone. Tea is a good way to stock up on antioxidants to prevent sun damage. Pamper your skin with a green tea skin facial for instant glow. Put 2tbsp of green tea into a bowl of hot water. Place a towel over your head and steam away the tan. When it cools down, you can use this mixture to splash on your face before heading out for a natural sunscreen.
Zap those zits
If your mother always told you to sip on a mix of lemon water and honey, it is time to pay heed. Spot a nasty red pimple on your face? Just dab a paste of honey and cinnamon powder to zap it away. This sweet elixir is a natural bleach and can be used to lighten unwanted facial hair and pimple scars. Mix it with lemon juice or tomato pulp to get a stronger lightening potion. Honey can also be used as an effective hair conditioner. Just soak your hair in a mix of 1tbsp raw honey and 2tbsp olive oil.
Sayonara oily skin
Drink it up, eat it or apply the juice or concentrate on your face. Pomegranate is your best bet for shine-control — a major concern for most brides. Just dab pomegranate juice on your face or use the concentrate as a mild scrub on the oily zones of your face. Wash off with cold water. It is also a great natural anti-ageing potion and works wonders as a sunscreen lotion.
