From lipsticks, table fans and the Nandi bull to retro phone booths — a jungle of prints made up the audiences, as designer Masaba Gupta's ramp readied for yet another print-heavy show. Label Satya Paul, helmed by Gupta, further indulged in separates and dresses, apart from their signature saris.

Satya Paul collection being showcased at day 3 of the ongoing Wills India Fashion Week.

Called Icarus, the collection dealt not only with newer iconography, but also played around with the positioning of the motifs that made them even more interesting.

The concept of ‘deception’ prints came into play as a sexy slit on a floor-length dress was teased by a hand fastening a safety pin through it , a hot iron with an accompanying burn mark sat humbly on the pallu of a sari, while knitted wool came alive with printed needles in place.

Other motifs included that of a running tap, water pouring out of a bottle and a pair of scissors. Colour blocked drapes, metallic inputs, exaggerated capes for autumn/winter, handbags and backpacks added to the collection. The music also added to the show with Kiwi singer Lorde’s ‘Royals’ packing a punch, right at the beginning.
