Dear Sir,

While I was fighting on the Burma front, I was injured, captured by the British and taken to a hospital in Calcutta. There, I heard the news of Netaji's crash in August 1945. But a Japanese officer came and told me that the crash story is false. It has been spread by Japan. Netaji is safe. Do not worry.

After that we heard that he was in Russia. But there was no evidence whatsoever. Habibur Rahman was the only person who knew the story.

But he did not appear before the Khosla commission. And if he was under an oath by Netaji not to reveal the truth he would not have done so till his dying days!

regards,
Capt Ganeshi Lal
(Capt. Ganeshi Lal served in the intelligence division in the INA)

Dear Sir,

Even we heard rumours that Netaji had escaped to Russia. But there is no evidence. Even the Mukherjee Commission probing the case at present have not been given all the files. I would urge the govt to extend full cooperation to the matter.

regards,
Lt Hari Kumar

Dear editor,

I would like to say that I support the view of Shah Nawaz and Habibur Rahman that Netaji Subhas Bose died in the air-crash in 1945.

We old soldiers of the INA have only a few years to live. Netaji, more than the government, belongs to us, to the Indian masses.

Hindustantimes.com should try to mobilise public support to bring his ashes from the Renkoji temple in Japan so that we can pay our last respects to our beloved leader and ensure that a fitting memorial is built to honour one of India's greatest sons.

regards,
Capt. K.L Bali
