The movie not only re-wrote the box office history but also has a special place in the career of great actor. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was his first hit one after he rejoined Bollywood after a long time. His earlier two movies in the same year-Ek Rishtaa - The Bond of Love and Aks- left Bachchan fans disappointed.

He plays Yashovardhan Raichand, the patriarch of the family with his real life partner Jaya as his wife in the movie. Shah Rukh and Hrithik play his sons, Shah Rukh being the adopted child.

He delivered yet another power-packed performance especially the sequence in the end, when he re-unites with SRK. His acting was fabulous.
