Amitabh Bachchan’s turns 63 on October 11, 2005. A luxury list of a few of the man's favourite things, whose one minute costs Rs 7,000.

Cars
Bachchan owns 11 cars — including a Lexus, two BMWs and three Mercedes Benzes. His favourite is the Lexus. The car is bullet-proof and has radial tyres (normally used for Formula 1 races; each tyre costs Rs 2.5 lakh).

The car also has a Global Positioning System, which enables him to know at the snap of his finger the closest food outlet or shopping mall he would like to visit.


Clothes
Amitabh is very fond of suits — his favourite is Gabbana; they have been designing his suits for the last 30 years. The fabric is specially imported from Italy; the thread imported from France and the buttons from England. His other favourite brand is Fratelli Rosetti, which starts from Rs 35,000.

What's on telly on Big B's birthday

Jabardast Janamdin on Star Gold. Festivites begin on October 10.

Sahara TV will feature Chehre Pe Chehra with a specially recorded interview with Big B. The intimate interview will cover his personal and professional life, says a release. The interview airs tomorrow at 7:00 pm.

This will be followed by another special programme featuring popular film songs of the star icon along with another interview.

Star Utsav will screen a special Film Festival called Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai. Viewers can send their birthday messages to Bachchan. Eleven winners will be chosen for their best birthday wishes. They will each take home designer suits worn by Big B in Kaun Banega Crorepati. STAR Utsav will also telecast snippets from some of the interviews given by the mega star all through the month of October. Top songs from Bachchan's movies will be on air in a karaoke style with lyrics appearing on the screen for the whole month of October.

Perfect timing
Bachchan has a passion for collecting watches. It is said that the actor never repeats his watches. His favourite brand is Longines, which costs around Rs 2,00,000. His other interest is collecting pens — the actor owns over a thousand pens. Mont Blanc gifts AB a special pen every year on his birthday.

Travelling in style
London and Switzerland. In London, he prefers to stay at St James’s Court, which is five minutes away from Buckingham Palace. He stays in the presidential suite, and the hotel has designed a brand new gym especially for him in this suite. A lift takes him to the underground parking lot directly from his suite.

Home truths
Amitabh Bachchan loves comfort and style and does not compromise on them. The flooring in his home is Italian marble and the bath fittings are from France and Germany. It is said his bungalows, Pratiksha and Jalsa, in Juhu, are together worth a whopping Rs 1,60 crore. Interestingly, Jalsa, his second home, was gifted to him.

Time is precious!
According to ad pundits, The Big B charges anything between Rs five to Rs 12 crore per ad. According to one report, a company paid him Rs 10 crore for ten days — about Rs 7,000 per minute!
