According to a survey by MTV Networks International (MTVNI) Indian
youth are the happiest in the world. The survey took six months
to complete and pointed to a Wellbeing Index which compares the
feelings of young people, based on their perceptions of safety,
on their notions of where they fit into society and how they see
their future.
While India topped the Wellbeing Index, Sweden followed close behind
on the second position. The survey listed Japanese youth as the
most miserable in the world.
Even rich countries like Britain and the United States couldn't
boast of happy youngsters, where fewer than 30 per cent of the youth
said they were happy.
The survey, that covered 5,400 young people in 14 countries, concluded
that the youth of developing countries, particularly India, were
twice as happier as their counterparts in developed countries. Whatever
be the reasons, let's just let happiness prevail in this land.
