Bollywood attempted an array of rather unusual themes this past
year - from the battle of the sexes to Indo-Pak friendship, from
lesbianism to the plight of HIV positive people, from erotic tales
to the influence of politics on contemporary youth, even the depredations
of a biker gang and the impact of communalism on the police force!
The experiments have often been interesting, but when measured by
the commercial success rate, it hasn't necessarily been a particularly
encouraging year, barring a few exceptions.
