India, which has already established itself as a global BPO hub, is
fast becoming a popular outsourcing destination for major manufacturers across
the globe. Global auto makers, such as Ford, GM, DaimlerChrysler and Volkswagen,
have opened IPOs in India. This alone could translate into a $15-billion market
potential for India. Riding on the outsourcing wave, the Indian auto component
sector is on a roll and, for the first time, its exports have reached the $1-billion
mark. Companies in Europe and the US are aware that the Indian IT industry
provides quality services at highly competitive prices. With the West coming
out of the post-9/11 slowdown, the Indian BPO industry is regaining jobs. The
good part about the outsourcing segment in India is that it's not only the cost,
which attracts the global audience, but the high quality services that are rendered. |
