Move over Superman and Batman, Hanuman is here and how! India's
first full-lenghth animation movie Hanuman has enthralled adults
and children alike.
Wallpapers of the precocious Hanuman as a blue-eyed, red-cheeked
kid are the current rage. The animation is comparable to the best
in the world. Jai Hanuman to the team which has successfully animated
the oldest epic in the world and a mythical superhero, whose name
and fame was confined only to India's shores, but deserved to be
recognised and enjoyed worldwide.
The film is about 100 minutes in length and has over 40 individual
characters. It has been recorded officially as India's first indigenous
animation film in the Limca Book of Records' 2004 edition.
Directed by animation veteran VG Samant, it is set to be released
in English on December 25, taking it to a wider audience. More good
news. A sequel to Hanuman is being planned for next year.
A Sahara One Motion Pictures presentation in association with Silvertoons,
it had 85 per cent collections in the first week and has reportedly
done business of over Rs 12 crores at the box office. This is the
first time ever in India that an animation film has received such
