Mr. Bharati, who began his career as a Lecturer, Economics at Delhi University, is currently serving FICCI as Advisor and heads its National Programmes and Policy division.
Before joining FICCI, he was the Advisor to Director, India operations at the World Bank; a Financial Journalist from 1984 to 1996, and has also served as Senior Editor, The Times of India and Editor, The Economic Times.
As a regular columnist and editorial writer, Mr. Bharti has contributed hundreds of pieces on the Indian and global economy, politics and international relations. He has always been a keen commentator on India's political economy.
He was Jefferson Fellow at the East-West Centre, Hawaii in 1992. He has delivered talks and lectures on India in the US, Hong Kong, UK and Middle East as also in India. He has also compered and anchored numerous TV programmes.
