Diego Rossetti
Chairman, Fratelli Rossetti

For over thirty years the 50 year-old Diego Rossetti, the first son of Renzo Rossetti, founder and President of Fratelli Rossetti S.p.A., together with his brothers Dario and Luca, has led the company which boasts over fifty years of activity. In charge of the Marketing and Communication division, he is a board member of A.N.C.I., the national association of footwear manufacturers.

Once he had finished studying, and after gaining experience abroad, he joined the family firm to look after the commercial sector, in particular the development of foreign markets and the extension of the single-brand retail network in Italy and abroad, by now numbering 26 shops, of which 15 are in Italy and 11 abroad.

Under him Fratelli Rossetti was the first Italian fashion house to appear on Madison Avenue in New York with its own single-brand shop. In recent years they have successfully experimented the commercial formula of franchising with the opening of three single-brand shops in the East: Beirut, Dubai and Mumbai.

The first franchised Rossetti shop is 130 square metres of elegance and plate glass in the Beirut Central District zone. This new sales outlet, right in the heart of the city, amidst a whirlwind of rebuilding after the dark years of the war, showcases all of Beirut's desire to propose itself, once again, as that which once it was, the most beautiful and the richest city standing on the Mediterranean.

"For the first time we are venturing into the world of franchising" explains Diego Rossetti "we are renouncing the direct management of the shop because we thought it important to explore other forms of commercialisation in this moment, and in a situation which is still as fluid as that to be found in Lebanon. The great expectation and enthusiasm for our new opening proves our decision was the right one and rewards us for this new, for us, approach to the marketplace".

Dubai is the second stage in Fratelli Rossetti's retail growth and the second franchise opened in the month of April 2005. The company philosophy was carefully adapted to the choice of this modern market, one of the most important economic centres of the Arab Emirates and the entire Middle East

In the imposing and sumptuous Grand Hyatt Plaza in Mumbai, crossroads of international traffic, the third Fratelli Rossetti franchise opens.

Passionate about sport, in his free time he loves gliding and trekking. He has often been a participant in high level sporting activities, such as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, or crossing Nepal by bicycle. It was in this latter country that his passion for photography developed, and his love for this country led him to commit himself, personally, in the creation of a children's shelter.

"My Nepal", edited by Baldini&Castoldi, the proceeds of which are entirely devolved to the "Nepal House" association, is a collection of photographs by Diego Rossetti, and strongly desired by him, where the life of a country unknown to us is told by the faces of its little inhabitants.
