Children in Delhi Govt schools to assess teachers online

Teachers have been assessing their students since time immemorial. But for the first time, students of Delhi government schools would be able to assess not only their teachers but also the facilities and the infrastructure that is provided to them in schools.

The assessment module is being implemented with computers and Internet facilities. The entire assessment by the students would be online, away from the prying eyes of the teachers. All students would have their unique identification code on the basis of which they can open the website and give their views.

Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely told the Hindustan Times that the entire move is aimed at bringing transparency in the education system and improving it further. The feedback from students on the website of the Education Department would have the name of the school, the student and his class.

The student would be able to tell the authorities whether a particular subject is taught or not and whether he understood the topic or not. Students from Class VI onwards can also write about the number of desks in their classroom and if there is any shortage.
