Naresh Goyal

Founder of private airline Jet Airways, Naresh Goyal has never rested on his laurels. He made a modest start in 1974 when he took over the sales and marketing operations of foreign airlines in India.

In 1991, when the government launched the Open Skies Policy, Goyal made the best use of the opportunity and started Jet Airways in 1993. Rest, as they say, is history. In 1993, when other start-ups were inducting Boeing 737-200 aircraft, he bought new generation Boeing 737-400s.

This was a great achievement for a man who first worked at his uncle’s travel agency. After a short stint, he opened his own airline agency Jetair. Today, Jet Airways operates a fleet of 85 aircraft that fly to 64 destinations.
