The
look is very trendy and fairly international, more for the younger
than the older man, promises Rohit. There are trousers - full or quarter
length; lots of short and front zip-up jackets. "There is no
connection between one garment and another,'' explains the designer.
In the tradition of all international designers, Rohit is making just
separates for the India Fashion Week, which is aimed fundamentally
at the market. "It's then for the retailers to decide what they
wish to team up and sell in the market,'' he explains.
Exclusivity is certainly not the name of the game here. There'll be
hundreds of garments of the same kind ("Insha Allah,'' Rohit
puts in fervently); though the designer promises that quality will
not suffer.
Rohit does have great hopes from the India Fashion Week, though maybe
not from the first one itself. "I am convinced that this first
year is more like an investment that'll pay off later,'' he says.
Insha Allah!
