It will be a starry, starry night at St. Cloud on June 21. When Aishwarya Rai does her number on Shah Rukh Khan at the sangeet ceremony of the Bhatia Wedding, the guest list will include Preity Zinta and Hrithik Roshan too.

“Rai is the best in Bollywood. We really wanted her to perform at the roka ceremony, which took place in November in London. But she was on a world tour. So we settled for the Spice Girls instead,” says Renu Bhatia, mother of Amit Bhatia, the groom.

And how could the glitzy wedding of Vanisha Mittal, daughter of the fifth-richest man in Britain, be complete without French artists and Moulin Rouge dancers? “We couldn’t have had pop music blaring at the Palace of Versailles for the engagement ceremony on June 20. So, pop diva Madonna, our original choice, was ruled out,” said Arun Bhatia, father of Amit.

Two days before the Bollywood stars descend on Paris, the Bhatia family itself will be performing at a sangeet ceremony for family and close friends at the Garden of Tuileries on June 19. “Our family and close friends took classes from the Mumbai-based Rajinder Singh to prepare a small skit for the couple. It was tough jiving to hip-shaking numbers at this age but then we’ll do anything to make our children happy,” said Arun, who will fly to Marbella in the Spanish Riviera with wife Renu, for a small vacation after the festivities.
