HAIR'S TO THE STARS!
Akash Arora (HT City)

Fash frat’s sexiest ramp dolls, styled and dressed like Bollywood’s screen goddesses, will set the Lakmé India Fashion Week ramp afire. The ‘Sunsilk – Styles Of The Silver Screen’ show tonight promises lots of excitement – Tora Khasgir dressed like Kareena Kapoor, Sampada Inamdar styled like Sharmila Tagore, Gaisel flaunting Helen’s Teesri Manzil look and Tupur Chatterjee sporting Kajol’s straight, long hair look.

“The theme for the Sunsilk Hair Show last year was ‘colours’. This year it’s ‘Bollywood hairstyles’, made eternal by some of our most beautiful screen icons,” says show choreographer Achala Sachdev, who spent the whole of the past month researching on Bollywood’s most trendsetting hairstyles and finalising the right outfit and soundtrack for each look.

“About 30 models will walk the ramp, sporting hairstyles flaunted by different Bollywood heroines. These will include the huge bouffant look of Sharmila Tagore, Mumtaz and Nanda from the ’60s; the straight hair with middle parting flaunted by Zeenat Aman in ’70s; the multi-layered, backbrush look of Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit and Dimple Kapadia in ’80s; and the straight, long hair with coloured streaks popularised by Raveena Tandon, Rani Mukherjee, Urmila, and Kareena Kapoor in the ’90s and the new millennium,” says Achala.

And that’s not all. Sunsilk’s celebrity hairstylist from US, Joseph Neeko Abroil, will style the last five models on the runway, to predict the future look of Bollywood screen icons. Don’t miss out on this one!
