GUL PANACHE KEEPS 'EM GUESSING
Akash Arora (HT City)
Over
the past three years, ever since she was crowned Miss India and
climbed the glam ladder, Gul Panag has gone for as many as 12 drastic
makeovers from wearing different looks as far as makeup and
clothes are concerned to cutting her hair short, and shorter still!
At the Taj Palace where she is shooting for a six-episode series
for Star World based on the Lakmé India Fashion Week, Gul
was seen flaunting a really short haircut. The only element on her
face that remains unchanged is the deep dimple. My father
once said that if youve to survive in this industry, youve
to change your look from time to time or your audience will get
sick of you. I guess Ive lived up to that, said Gul
who is immensely enjoying her role as a TV anchor.
I host Kisme Kitna Hai Dum for Star Plus every
Thursday at 9 p.m. and am excited about anchoring the LIFW series.
That I was a part of this industry helps me relate to the event.
When I speak to models, designers or make-up artists, I can understand
what they talk about. When I talk of issues concerning the LIFW
it sounds authentic and not scripted, she says.
Does she feel nostalgic when she sees models
walking down the ramp? Extremely nostalgic. At the same time
I feel proud. For in the past few years, this industry has evolved
tremendously. People have become very professional. Now, I want
to produce and anchor an interview show, which would be a mix of
what Karan Thapar and Simi Grewal do. I will not just target politicians
and film stars. I will bring unsung heroes to the limelight. They
could be architects, journalists, doctors or business tycoons,
Gul signs off!
