HAIR & NOW, JAWED TOPS IT WITH ELAN
Akash Arora (HT City)

Sunsilk brand ambassador Jawed Habib is obsessed with short hair. “It’s easy to manage,” says the hairstylist, who’ll be conducting a Sunsilk ‘The Short Look’ Workshop at the Taj Palace on Monday at 4 pm during the Lakmé India Fashion Week.
“Today’s busy workaholics want to go for something they can just wash in the morning before running off to office,” says Jawed, who gave a glimpse of his drastic makeover plans when he worked on ramp hotshot Sampada Inamdar’s “simple, flat hair” to create an “exotic, wacky look”.

Sampada’s short, scanty hair didn’t leave much room for experimentation. “So, I trimmed her hair a little, gave it a normal blow-dry, used hair spray to add volume and then coloured them red, gray and yellow – shades that go best with her dusky skin tone. It gives her a ‘rock star’ look,” says Jawed.

Instead of using any normal hair colour brand, Jawed went for (believe it or faint) Camel poster colours! “You can easily apply these colours on the hair with your fingertips for a wild look. To get rid of the colours, all you’ve to do is wash your hair. The next morning you can wear a new look, a new colour. There’s a lot of room for experimentation this way,” he says.

Sampada’s reaction? “I feel exhilarated. I’ve never been so wild in my life before and I know this look is bound to make a thousand heads turn.”
