While
at Welham Boy's School, Abhishek Gupta discovered his fascination
for art and design through illustrations in school newsletters and
art exhibitions. After graduating, he moved to NIFT, New Delhi where
he majored in Fashion Design. It was here that he won the Air France
International Young Fashion Designers Award and was a finalist in
the Smirnoff Design Contest. After graduating from NIFT, he joined
couturier Rohit Bal as an assistant designer. In 1998 he branched
out on his own and started his own studio. His clothes portray a fresh
perspective. Paying great attention to detail and cut, his clothes
are understated and elegant. He works very closely with his tailors
and craftsmen to create an impeccable finish. Striving constantly
to bring a new intellectual excitement to his work, Abhishek draws
inspiration from his experiences. He enjoys designing both menswear
as well as womenswear. He retails from premier fashions stores like
Ensemble, Ogaan, Amaya, Fusion and Ffolio |

A
formal degree in Textile Designing and pattern cutting with a French
Instructor, combined with an inherent sense of aesthetics led Anjana
to establish Studio A, a design studio in New Delhi. Each collection
by Anjana has an inspiration, with accessories on garments as her
hallmark. Her designs resurrect patterns and skills of ancient arts
and combine these with the rhythm of modern life. The accent is always
on comfort, wearability and affordability. Anjana has been actively
designing for the Usha International group of companies. In April
this year, she designed and fabricated jackets for the prestigious
PATA Conference for Delhi Tourism held in New Delhi. Anjana has made
a mark in the corporate sector by designing and fabricating uniforms
for Hotel Grand Intercontinental, New Delhi and the ITC Group of hotels
across the country. Anjana's recent venture is Perfect 10, the complete
personality institute. Perfect 10 is about grooming, appearances,
conduct and a sense of style |

Vijay
Arora did his MBA from Cornell University, USA. He never made a concerted
effort to become a designer. His first collection was in 1993, which
was a range of men's kurtas and churidas. By 1994 end the transition
was made as women loved the men's kurtas and wanted them to be made
feminine. 'ANANT', the label promoted by designers Shobhna & Vijay
Arora, is synonymous with 'perennial' in Sanskrit and in sync with
their philosophy; to style ensembles that are evergreen, aesthetic,
and timeless. Embroidery and embellishments are the forte of the Anant
label. The silhouettes are clean, streamlined and the focus is intricate
hand embroidery that makes style statements. The look is always sophisticated,
either understated or strong, creating an impact |

Anita's
urge for putting her design skills into practice got her into establishing
her Ethnic Indianwear studio and she began retailing under the label
Masque. Subsequently, she began supplying her designs to renowned
stores such as Sheetal in India, Damini in London and a host of stores
in cities like Vancouver, Singapore, and Dubai. She continues to supply
her Indian Ethnic Designs in these markets. Anita then made a gradual
transition and launched her western women's wear label AND in mid-1999.
AND retails in Mumbai from India's premier mall, Crossroads and other
stores located in Mumbai and New Delhi. Having been involved for over
15 years with the fashion world, she felt it apt to launch her couture
label ANITA DONGRE. The ANITA DONGRE label is a fitting combination
of the exemplary world of Indian creative crafts, clean cuts and simplistic
value. With Anita's positive understanding of an international look,
the ANITA DONGRE label was appropriately launched at an international
forum - IGEDO in August 2000. The Collection is available at the ANITA
DONGRE studio at Ohm Chambers, Kemps Corner, Mumbai |

A
textile expert and fashion designer for women, Anju did her schooling
from a small hill-station, Ranchi, amidst nature. She has done specialized
courses on vegetable dyes, pattern making and forecasting from various
institutes in India and U.K. Weaving was learnt on practical fields
in handloom sectors of remote village areas. Having dedicated 15 years
to the fashion institution, she has made her way through an enriching
experience of textile and varied surface treatment. She has spent
a decade in reviving old techniques of weaving and has also developed
new woven designs through her in-depth research and inherent aesthetics.
All this exposure has influenced her collection, which is very contemporary.
She has been focussing on basic ingredients and colors. Her themes
are not rigid and literal, they rather emphasize the elements of luxury,
glamour, texture and color and at the same time take care of the comfort
expectation of the consumers. She reaches her customers through her
own atelier 'Anjuman' and also supplies her garments to other high
fashion stores in India |

Aparna's
signature style combines classic elegance and contemporary flair.
Unaffected and understated, sexy but never vulgar, with flawless cuts
and an obsessive attention to detail, her clothes are extremely wearable
and seem to be more about the wearer than about themselves, a sharp
whisper in a room full of loud people |
