Ms. Barkha Dutt has been one of the most popular faces on the news channels attaining iconic status as a news reporter.

Born on 18th December 1971, Ms. Dutt shot into limelight with her fearless reporting of the Kargil War, from the frontlines. This work of hers earned her four journalism awards and critical acclaim. It was probably for the first time the nation witnessed live reporting of this standard.

Ms. Dutt completed her schooling from Modern School Delhi, then graduated in Literature from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and went on to do her Masters in Mass Communication from Jamia Milia Islamia University, Delhi. She also received a Masters Degree in Journalism from Columbia University, New York. She was also a recipient of the Inlaks Scholarship in 1997.

Today she commands the kind of respect that many in her field achieve at a much-advanced age. Ms. Barkha Dutt has given news reporting a new meaning and is unmistakably an icon for the young.
