Professor Kanti Bajpai is currently the Headmaster of the country’s leading institution - The Doon School located at Dehra Dun. He passed out from the same school in 1972, and pursued work at M.A. level on economic development, macro - models of the economy and so on and was quite interested in the whole issue of democracy in the military.
Although he has been teaching for the past 13 years, mostly in Jawaharlal Nehru University’s (JNU) School of International Studies, Mr. Bajpai has taught pre-teens only for a year between 1980-1981.
His interest in the Indian democracy increased over the years and led him to author a number of books such as: Engaged Democracies: India-U.S. Relations in the 21st Century, co-editor (Har-Anand, 2000); The Peacock and the Dragon: India-China Relations in the 21st Century, co-editor (Har-Anand, 2000); Jammu and Kashmir: An Agenda for the Future, co-author (Delhi Policy Group, 1999); Securing India: Strategic Thought and Practice, co-editor (Manohar Publishers, 1997); Brasstacks and Beyond: Perception and Management of Crisis in South Asia , co-author (Manohar Publishers, 1995); Interpreting World Politics , co-editor (Sage Publications, 1995); South Asia After the Cold War: International Perspectives , co-editor (Westview Publications, 1993) .
Mr. Bajpai is actively involved in discussions on international affairs and is one of the most popular faces on television for the same.
