Ms. Natalie Glebova
Miss Universe, 2005
On 31st of May, Ms. Natalie Glebova was crowned Miss Universe. The story of this beauty queen is one of what fairy tales are made of.
Ms. Glebova, an only child to parents Ms. Anna Glebova and Mr. Vlad Slezin, was born in a small coastal town in Russia. At the age of 12 ,along with her parents, she moved to Toronto with only one wicker case
filled
with their belongings.
The multi-talented Ms. Glebova was a rhythmic gymnast throughout her childhood and adolescence. As a child she competed as a member of local and regional teams in a number of tournaments. She is a classical pianist and music composer and has studied at the Professional Music School in Russia. Apart from this she has also worked as a motivational speaker for grade school and high school students. She hopes her success story would inspire many more immigrants and help in their assimilation all around the world.
After being crowned Ms. Glebova has tirelessly campaigned for increasing awareness of HIV/AIDS. She would be travelling the globe as an ambassador for organizations such as the Global Health Council, AMFAR, and the Elizabeth Glaser Paediatric AIDS Foundation.
Ms. Natalie Glebova has completed her Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology Management and Marketing at Ryerson University and aspires to be a business owner in the communications and/or public relations field. Her interests include biking, rollerblading, swimming as well as ballet
and figure skating.
