Dr. Omkar Goswami, the founder and chairperson of Corporate and Economic Research Group Advisory Private Limited, is a world renowned Economist. He serves on the board of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and Infosys Technologies - two of India's most prestigious companies. He is also a member of the board of other organizations such as Infrastructure Development Finance Company, Crompton Greaves, SRF and DSP-Merrill Lynch Fund Managers.

Dr. Goswami, competed his Masters in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics in 1978 and received his Doctorate in the same subject from Oxford in 1982. He taught and researched Economics for 18 years at various institutions such as Oxford, Delhi School of Economics, Harvard, Tufts, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Rutgers University and the Indian Statistical Institute, New Delhi.

Moving from academics, Dr. Goswami in 1997 became the editor of Business India and the following year in August joined the Confederation of Indian Industry as Chief Economist. He served at this post for the next six years.

Dr. Goswami has held many prestigious posts, which include consultant to the World Bank, the IMF, the Asian Development Bank and the OECD. He has made immense contributions in the field of Economics. He has authored 3 books, over 70 research papers and writes regular columns for newspapers and magazines.
