Mrs. Sonia Gandhi at the Hindustan Times    Leadership Initiative 2003 The Hindustan Times is pleased to unveil The Hindustan Times Leadership Initiative, as part of its mission to enhance the level of discussion on pressing issues, encourage interaction among leaders and present international quality thought-platforms aimed at solutions. This Initiative is hosting its inaugural meeting of minds, at a conference titled “The Peace Dividend: Progress for India, Pakistan and the Neighbourhood” on 12-13 December 2003, in New Delhi. The purpose of the “Peace Dividend” conference is to discuss and map the economic, strategic and geopolitical future of India and South Asia in relation to the world. The conference also seeks to provide meaningful ideas and interaction ahead of the South Asia Association for Regional Conference heads of states summit, scheduled for 4-6 January 2004. Key political and business leaders, strategists and leading minds from India and overseas will attend this by-invitation gathering. At the end of the “Peace Dividend” conference, proceedings will be posted on this website, along with transcripts of speeches and moderated Q&A. A special document will record the proceedings, that will be circulated to all speakers, delegates and major strategic affairs institutions, think tanks and corporations in India and around the world.
