Over the years, he has covered various positions in the Ermenegildo Zegna Group in the fields of informal clothing, textiles, production, organisation and marketing. He has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Ermenegildo Zegna Holditalia S.p.A . since 1989 and he reached the position of C.E.O. in 1998.
He currently holds a number of illustrious positions such as:
President of the new Federation, made by the merger of Sistema Moda Italia (Italian Fashion System) and ATI (Italian Textile Association).
Vice-President of the Idea Biella Association, the association, which includes the top Quality Italian Woolmills, and Weavers.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and Pitti Immagine. After attending the Scientific High School in Borgosesia (Vercelli), Mr. Paolo Zegna graduated in Economic and Social Sciences from the University of Geneva (CH). He is an enthusiastic skier, golfer and traveller.
