Also known as the home of cricket, it
was founded at
its present venue in 1787 by Thomas Lord and is one of
Londons most famous landmarks. Headquarters for
Middlesex CCC, it staged the World Cup finals in 1975,
1979, 1983 and 1999.
India have played just one One-day International here,
the opening match of the 1975 World Cup when they were
thrashed by 202 runs by England. Sri Lanka have met England at Lords on
three occasions, winning just once in 1998.
