Lord's, June 29:

46 overs: Dravid, Yuvraj put India on verge of victory

An unbeaten partnership of 113-runs between Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh put India on the verge of victory. After 46 overs, India was 254 for four with Dravid on 62 and Yuvraj on 58. India need 18 runs off the same number of deliveries to win.

40 overs: Dravid, Yuvraj start to turn the screw; India 207 for four

An unbeaten partnership of 66-runs between Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh steadied the Indian innings to 207 for four. After 40 overs, Dravid was on 37 from 56 deliveries and Yuvraj had raced to 39 off 40 deliveries with a flurry of boundaries from the last few overs.

29 overs: Giles grabs three to sink India deeper into trouble

Sourav Ganguly dances down the track and tries to hit over mid-on, where James Kirtley races around, throws himself full-length, and, whilst airborne, grabs the ball one-handed. Ganguly made 43. Third wickets for Ashley Giles.

After 29 overs, India were 145 for four with Rahul Dravid on 14 and Yuvraj Singh on 1.

26 overs: Irani gets Tendulkar to put India on backfoot

Ronnie Irani bowling wicket to wicket, rapped Sachin Tendulkar on the back leg, and the umpire had no hesitation in raising the finger. Big wicket for England, Tendulkar goes for 1. After 26 overs, India were 133 for three. Sourav Ganguly was at the crease on 43 with Rahul Dravid on 7.

22 overs: Giles checks India with two wickets

Dinesh Mongia went after a juicy, flighted delivery on the off-stump and missed it completely, the ball turned in and rattled the stumps. Mongia could manage just one run. After 22 overs, India were 117 for two with Sourav Ganguly (38) and Sachin Tendulkar (1) at the crease. Two wickets in the same number of overs for Ashley Giles, he must be delighted.

18 overs: Sehwag goes for 71, India 109 for one

Virender Sehwag gets down on one-knee and throws everything at a delivery down the leg-side, the ball takes the top-edge and goes high in the air towards the boundary where Marcus Trescothick completes a most remarkable catch diving full length. Sehwag made 71. After 18 overs, India were 190 for one with Sourav Ganguly (32) and Dinesh Mongia (0) at the crease.

13 overs: Sehwag slams 50, India 84 for no loss

10 overs: India off to flying start, 58 for no loss

Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly flayed the English bowling attack all over the park to give India a flying start. After 10 overs, India were 58 for no loss with Sehwag on 39 off 40 balls and Ganguly on 16 off 22 balls.

5 overs: India make bright start, 30 for no loss

India were off to a good start chasing the English total of 271, reaching 30 for no loss after five overs. Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly opened the innings for India and were on 17 and 10, respectively.

Innings: England make 271/7; Yuvraj grabs three

Yuvraj Singh was the unlikely hero of the Indian attack as England were held to 271 for seven in their triangular series one-day international at Lord's here on Saturday. Singh, who had taken just 12 wickets in his previous 33 one-day internationals, saw his occasional left-arm spin yield a career-best three for 39 in India's first match of the tournament.

46 overs: Indian bowlers halts England scoring rate; 250/5

Alec Stewart (19) and Ronnie Irani (9) were at the crease. Anil Kumble finished his 10-over spell wicketless but gave away less than five-an-over.

40th over: Hussain departs for 54; England 222/5

Superb glovework by India make-shift wicket-keeper Rahul Dravid sends Nasser Hussain back in the pavilion. Hussain made a patient 54 before he became Yuvraj's third victim.

38th over: Yuvraj strikes as England lose quick wickets

Graham Thorpe and Andrew Flintoff were dissmissed in quick succession as Indians crawled their way back into the game. Flintoff was the first to go, caught brilliantly by Dinesh Mongia standing at the covers to end his 22-run cameo. Thorpe soon followed when he went back and cut one straight to Virender Sehwag at short third man. He made 12.

27th over: Ganguly snares Trescothick for 86, England 153 for two

Sourav Ganguly gave India the much needed breakthrough, just as England seem to be running away with the game, dismissing Marcus Trescothick for 86. The hosts were 153 for two in the 27th over. Nasser Hussain was at the crease on 26 with Andrew Flintoff the new man in.

Trescothick opened the face of the bat and tried to run Ganguly down to third man, but could only edge it straight into the gloves of Rahul Dravid.

25 overs: England race to 143/1

Marcus Trescothick looked like a man in a hurry scoring 78 in 73 balls to take England to 143 for one in 25 overs. The Indian spin-pace combine failed to impress the Trecothick and Hussain. Nick Knight, 31, was run out to a Sachin Tendulkar throw from the deep.

16th over: Trescothick reaches 50; 93/1

Marcus Trescothick reached a run-a-ball half-century as England were cruising along at 93 for one at the end of 16 overs. Indians got the initial breakthrough when Knight was needlessly run out going for the run which was never on. Sachin Tendulkar came up with the excellent throw from the deep. He made 31.

12 overs: Trescothick gets England off to a rapid start; 75 for no loss

Marcus Trescothick and Nick Knight provided England the solid foundation after the hosts won the toss and elected to bat against India at Lord's here on Saturday. Trescothick (42) , in particular looked in good nick taking full toll of an indisciplined Indian new ball attack. Knight was unbeaten at the crease on 25.

Toss: England elect to bat
