Bladder Rule To pee or not to pee? News Take Pledge
To pee or not to pee? - Let the law decide!

What's the legal word on peeing?

Under section 95 (A) of the DP Act, anybody found urinating in a public place can be imprisoned for eight days or fined Rs 100. A person can even be arrested if he/she allows a child of below seven years under their custody to ease himself/herself in public. Cops do not remember the last time a person was arrested for urinating in public.

But Urinators be warned - the NDMC has proposed a new law to be passed which will impose a fine of Rs. 1000 on anybody caught peeing in public! However, the law is still stuck in government red-tape. NDMC director Madan Thapial said it will be discussed in the next Assembly Session which is just around the corner. Thapliyal, said the proposal needed to be fine-tuned as in its present form it envisages producing the offender in front of a magistrate, who is the empowered authority to slap a fine on the culprits.

If things fall in place, be warned that the next time you empty your bladder in public, you might just have to empty your pockets as well!
