Few lives have run through such a varied gamut in so short a time and been so eventful. Protima Bedi. The almost-show-all model to the show-all streaker whose bare-dare blitz on the Bombay roads and the Juhu beach remains unmatched till date. No wonder then that the mere mention of her name brings salacious smiles on faces.

India's original flower child, she flaunted an I-care-a-damn attitude and sluiced through double standards and pseudo-morality in society. For the teen gang, she became an icon of the 1970s.

There was practically nothing she did not try in just 39 years - an open marriage with Kabir Bedi, relationships with artists, politicians, fought off ugly memories of a childhood rape and the hurt of being the unwanted child. Then the immediate and extreme switch to an Odissi danseuse who toiled with her own hands to create Nrityagram.

In her own words: "I did what I bloody well felt like doing."

Pamela bridges Borde(r)s

Pamela Bordes' scandalous love affair with a leading Tory MP in the 1980s rocked UK. Pamela is reported to have said that her story if told in full, could bring down the government.

Details of her rollicking sex romps with the Tory MP were lapped up by TV channels and tabloids. Bordes' broke borders. From politicos to media chiefs - she had them all under her belt. Her stormy relationship with Sunday Times editor Andrew Neil shot to the headlines and made her the most wanted for a long time.

The "right touch" got her into the right places and Pamela confidently strode the length and breadth of the House of Commons with a Commons security pass to work as a research assistant for the Dover MP, David Shaw with the help of fellow Tory MP, Henry Bellingham.

The ensuing uproar had the press chasing her for months and she went into hiding.

From her hunting ground in UK where the femme fatale claimed yet another victim in Carlos Moynihan, the UK sports minister, Bordes swung further to connect with revolutionary Libyan leader Colonel Gadaffi's closest aides, Ahmed Gadaff Al Daim jetsetting often to the Libyan capital, Tripoli in a private jet.

With Daim by her side, Paris was not too far where the duo wined and dined at the most luxurious and expensive hotels.

Soon her social circle included arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi and the Emir of Qatar. It was during one of her tours to Paris, she met her boyfriend, Henri Bordes, later to become her husband. Bordes was a convicted arms dealer. The couple later split.

From Jaipur to Paris, her stepping stone was the Miss India crown she won in 1982.

Her dangerous liaisons resulted in a scarred face when acid was thrown on her and she took years to recover.

Today, she is better known as Pamela Singh, the photographer.
