Hema Malini is the second South
Indian to make it big in Bollywood
after Vyjayanthimala.

She began her career opposite
Raj Kapoor in Sapnon ka Saudagar, which got her the Dream Girl tag. She became a top star with Seeta aur Geeta and her hit pairing with Dharmendra consolidated
her position at the top.

She is said to have turned down both
Sanjeev Kumar's and Jeetendra's
proposals of marriage, eventually
preferring to settle down as
Dharmendra's second wife.

Though mostly associated with glam roles, Hema did manage to churn out a few serious performances like in Khushboo, Kinara and Meera.
