Peter Parker aka Spiderman, before he became the masked web slinger, had a normal life like most youngsters.
After his parents, Mary and Richard Parker, died Peter was raised by his Aunt and Uncle May and Ben Parker. Like most youngsters his age, Peter struggled to earn a decent living, and had a hard time getting dates!
Pete lived a quite, sheltered life until the day he attended a radiation demonstration on a school trip. A spider exposed to radiation bit Peter, and passed along to Peter spider like abilities - like the ability to cling to walls and spin a web like the spider which could help him swing through the air.
The amazing new found power made Peter feel superior to everybody. It was as if his struggle had ended. He could do anything he wanted and money would just come to him, without any effort.
At first he used his powers to make money going into show business. During his short career, a burglar ran past Peter. Not feeling it was his responsibility Peter didn't think much of it. After returning home, Peter Parker found that the same burglar had murdered his Uncle Ben.
The incident left a deep impression on Pete as he recalled his uncle's words: With great power comes great responsibility. If he had caught the burglar then, probably his uncle would not be dead, Pete realised.
That was the beginning of a change in the life of
Spider-Man, the entertainer. Soon, Spider-Man, the superhero would be born
who would use his powers to fight against evil and corruption, a hero who
would translate into action his Uncle Ben's words - with great power comes
great responsibility...
